The Day You Stop Trying, is The Day You Stop Living

Home Diary 2009 Back into Training
Back into Training

After being home for over a week now, I've finally settled down into my training, and am definitely used to the altitude! I've been doing purely 'base miles' which refers to the training that sets a foundation for your entire season. So it's a fairly important phase. Consisting purely of long slow miles, our group of four riders has ridden about 850km this past week alone, which is ideal...

Our training consists of three days of miles, and then one day off... This pattern continues til about the 15th of January, where we will presumably start our training camp. Can't wait!

Otherwise, it's all very quiet here in Pretoria, with seemingly everyone away for Christmas and New Years. I'm not complaining since there's even less cars on the roads. Although, I'm sure the city will look like a city within a few days.

I hope to speak to the Manager of a prospective team sometime during this coming week, to discuss and finalise possibilites for the 2009 Racing Season, and also to confirm dates for the training camp, so I'll keep you all informed!

I hope as always that everyone 'back home' is riding safe, and enjoying the hot weather! (at least here we get rain almost every afternoon)

Til next time, all the best...
