The Day You Stop Trying, is The Day You Stop Living

Sometimes things just don't work in your favour - you try as you might, but still nothing goes as planned. But when you emerge from the spell of tough times, things start to look much more positive. This is the situation I find myself in now.

Having settled into my new job at the Wattbike Performance Studio and Bike Store, I'm starting to gain more and more free reign over what I want to do in a day. Gone are the days of "Joey do this". Now it's just "Joey go nuts". My job description is fairly extensive, but let's just say I'm an apprentice coach, bikeshop handyman and general freelance employee. It works out fairly well, with 8-9 hour days at work and still time to ride thanks to my late start and late finish.

Riding has finally made a reappearance after taking a back seat in my recent chaotic spell. I was gloriously 'vacated' from my houseshare agreement, changed jobs due to lack of pay and hours and moved my belongings to a temporary location. I ended up sleeping on the floor at work, a mates place and my girlfriends place - but as usual I made sure I came out on top. I found an amazing apartment, in a beautiful area of Melbourne. I have to say, I am really happy and it shows in everything I do.

My racing ban ends in 2 weeks which means I will be back into the SKCC Criteriums - maybe a bit rusty, so watch out for some overshoot in the corners.

We are just about to have V8 Supercar legends Mark Winterbottom and Will Davison in to the Performance Studio so I better get cracking...
